How social media effect interpersonal relationshipIn

today’s time, social media has become a common way of communicating with people. It has made it easier for us to stay connected with friends, family members, classmates and other people. Interpersonal relationships are based on the way people communicate, understand, respect and support each other. Social media has a strong effect on these relationships because people now use it for sharing their thoughts, feelings and everyday experiences. It can be helpful when people are living far from each other because they can easily send messages, make video calls and share important moments. It also allows people to know about each other’s lives and stay connected even when they cannot meet regularly. In this way, social media can provide emotional support and help people maintain their relationships. At the same time, excessive use of social media can create some difficulties. People may become so busy with their phones that they give less attention to the people sitting around them. This can affect the quality of communication and may slowly create emotional distance. Sometimes, a message on social media can also be misunderstood because we cannot always understand the person's actual feelings or tone from written words. Such misunderstandings can create disagreements and conflicts between people. Trust is another important part of an interpersonal relationship, and social media can sometimes affect it. For example, people may become doubtful when they see something online without knowing the complete situation. Similarly, sharing private messages, photos or information without someone's permission can hurt trust and respect. Social media can also influence the way people listen to each other. When someone is talking but the other person is busy checking notifications or scrolling through social media, proper active listening does not take place. The person speaking may feel ignored or less important. Good relationships also require respect for personal boundaries, but sometimes people expect quick replies or want to know everything about another person's online activities. This can create unnecessary pressure in a relationship. On the positive side, social media can also help people solve problems when they communicate calmly and honestly. Friends and family members can discuss their problems and support each other through messages or calls. However, for serious disagreements, direct and peaceful communication can often help people understand each other's feelings better. Therefore, social media can have both positive and negative effects on interpersonal relationships. It can bring people closer by improving communication and providing support, but excessive or careless use can cause misunderstandings, lack of attention and problems with trust and respect. If people use social media responsibly, give proper time to their real-life relationships, listen to others carefully and respect their privacy and boundaries, social media can become a useful tool for maintaining healthy and meaningful interpersonal relationships
