How social media effect interpersonal relationship

Social media has become an important part of our everyday life and it has changed the way we communicate with people. Interpersonal relationships are the connections and interactions between two or more people, such as family members, friends, classmates and other people around us. These relationships need good communication, trust, respect, emotional support and understanding. Social media can affect all these parts of our relationships in both positive and negative ways. It helps us to stay connected with our friends and family even when they are far away. Through social media, we can send messages, share photos, talk about our daily life and know what is happening in the lives of other people. It also helps people to communicate quickly and easily. For example, friends who live in different cities can stay in contact through messages and video calls. In this way, social media can help people maintain their relationships and give emotional support when someone is going through a difficult time. It can also help people make new connections with others who have similar interests. However, too much use of social media can also create problems in interpersonal relationships. When a person spends too much time on social media, they may give less time and attention to the people around them. Even when family members or friends are sitting together, they may be busy using their phones instead of talking to each other. This can reduce face-to-face communication and emotional connection. Good communication is the foundation of a healthy relationship, but social media communication is sometimes not clear because we cannot always understand the other person's feelings or tone through a text message. This can create misunderstandings and sometimes lead to conflicts. Social media can also affect trust between people. For example, if someone does not reply to a message or is seen talking to other people online, another person may misunderstand the situation and feel ignored. Similarly, sharing someone's personal information or photos without permission can affect trust and respect in a relationship. Social media can also affect active listening. Active listening means paying proper attention to what another person is saying and responding to them. When people keep checking their phones while someone is talking, the other person may feel that they are not being listened to or valued. This can slowly create distance between people. Respecting boundaries is also important in interpersonal relationships. Everyone has personal space and limits, and social media can sometimes make it difficult to maintain these boundaries. Constantly asking for replies, checking someone's online activity or interfering too much in someone's personal life can create tension. At the same time, social media can also help in conflict resolution if it is used carefully. People can communicate with each other and discuss their problems, but important conflicts are often better handled through calm and direct communication because it helps people understand each other's feelings more clearly. Therefore, social media itself is not completely harmful to interpersonal relationships. The main thing is how we use it. If we use social media in a balanced way, respect other people's privacy and boundaries, communicate properly and give enough time to real-life relationships, it can help us stay connected with others. But if we depend on it too much, it can reduce communication, trust, respect and emotional connection. Healthy interpersonal relationships need understanding, empathy, active listening and good communication, so social media should be used as a way to support our relationships rather than replacing real human connection.
