(1) Describe the SQ3R Reading Technique and its Benefits

Introduction 

The SQ3R method is a structured approach to reading that helps improve comprehension and retention. SQ3R stands for Survey, Question, Read, Recite and Review.
Steps of SQ3R

1. Survey

Survey means scanning the text to get an overview. The reader looks at headings, subheadings, summaries and illustrations to understand the main topics.

2. Question

The reader formulates questions based on the survey. These questions guide the reading and help focus attention on finding answers.

3. Read

The reader reads the text thoroughly to find answers to the questions. Attention is given to important details and notes are taken.

4. Recite

Recite means summarizing the information in one's own words. It can be done verbally or in writing.

5. Review

The reader reviews the material regularly to reinforce understanding and retention. Notes, summaries and key points can be revisited during reviews
