} Public Speaking as a Life Skill
Public speaking is an important skill that helps a person express thoughts and ideas in front of others. It is not only about giving a speech on a stage. We use public speaking in many situations, such as giving presentations, participating in discussions, answering questions in class, and speaking in interviews.
Many people feel shy or nervous when they have to speak in front of a group. However, regular practice can make a person more comfortable and confident. Good public speaking teaches us how to speak clearly, choose the right words, and communicate our ideas effectively.
Public speaking is very useful in student life. Students often need to give presentations, participate in group activities, and speak during classroom discussions. For example, when I had to give a presentation in front of my class, I was nervous at first and was worried that I might forget what I had prepared. But after practising several times, I was able to speak more confidently. This experience taught me that preparation and practice can reduce nervousness.
Another important benefit of public speaking is that it develops self-confidence. When we speak in front of others and successfully express our ideas, we become more confident. Slowly, the fear of speaking in public becomes less. This confidence can also help us while meeting new people, taking part in activities, and sharing our opinions.
Public speaking also improves our thinking and communication skills. Before speaking, we need to arrange our ideas in a proper order. This helps us think carefully and present our thoughts in a clear way. It also teaches us to listen to others and respond appropriately.
Public speaking can also help us influence and motivate people in a positive way. A person who communicates well can share useful ideas, create awareness, and encourage others to work together. Therefore, it is useful not only for personal growth but also for making a positive contribution to society.
public speaking is an essential life skill. It helps us communicate better, develop confidence, organise our thoughts, and succeed in different areas of life. We do not need to be perfect speakers; with regular practice, anyone can become a better and more confident speaker.
